Eats4Life is a nutritional program designed to help people burn fat while providing their body with the nutrition it needs to boost metabolism, stabilize blood sugar, and maintain energy levels.
When my doctor recently told me it would be recommended for me to lose weight, I felt sort of hopeless and did not know where to start. I always try to make healthy eating choices; I can't remember the last time I ate white pasta or white bread. I try to eat almonds because they are good for your health. I incorporate fruits and veggies into my meals every day. Yet I have still gained a lot of weight over the past few years and haven't managed to take any of it off. It's time for me to seek help from someone who can tell me exactly what, and how, to eat.
Joanne Dunn Hoffman is that person. She is a consultant at Eats4Life and her motto is that "You are what you eat". It's so true. I remember a time around the holidays when I knew I was not eating healthy (cookies, candy...) and I felt like crap the rest of the day. This is in opposition to how good I feel when I eat healthy for one day: I feel energized, not bloated, and thinner.
As many of you have come to know, my husband and I have found our passion in cooking. We cook things that taste good but may not be entirely healthy or healthy at all! For a long time I have been eating what I want, when I want, so as not to deprive myself and create cravings. This is obviously not the way one should be eating and I know my health is suffering.
Today, I start my program with Joanne. She has created a week-long menu for me, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and three snacks throughout the day. My menu is based on the requirements of my body composition. She also provided me with a shopping list to do my grocery shopping for the week. The inital groceries I had to buy to start off cost me $170, however many of the ingredients I needed do not spoil quickly or I can freeze them so next week should be a lot cheaper. I am looking forward to learning how to eat for life; in the first three months I can expect to drop one-to-two pants sizes! Talk about motivation :)
